Covenant (Read in Unison)

"As a body of faith, we cherish the richness of our heritage and vow to express our cultural values in our private and public lives;

The ACCC shall remain committed to the teachings of the Bible as the principle norm of our faith. Through prayer and spiritual devotion, we shall strive to share in the experiences of all peoples, including the people of Africa; we acknowledge the enormous challenges that face our home land, including poverty, hunger, disease, the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and civil wars that continue to ruin human lives and infrastructures;

We shall continue to seek God’s intervention in personal and national crises. We believe through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, God will restore the peace and tranquility of Mother Africa which has been eroded by various civil wars and tribal conflicts. We believe if “we humble ourselves, and pray, and seek God’s face, and turn from our wicked ways, God will hear from heaven, will forgive our sins, and heal our land;”

We confess our support to the cause of our community, including the African Christian Community Church (ACCC), where human need and worship of God are the criteria for daily living. As a community of exiles, we are “seeds of faith,” ready to grow in and out of season, to expand the kingdom of God;

We will continue to pray for the welfare of our host nation and the Government and people of the United States. We pray that God will transform the socio- political and economic systems of Africa. We pray that God will raise leaders and families that fear God and lead by example;

 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though its water roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah.

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the Holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is within the midst of her, she shall not be moved. God shall help her, just at the break of dawn. The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;

 He utter His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of Host is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come behold the works of the Lord, who has made desolations in the earth. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks bow and cuts the spear in two. He burns the chariot into the fire;

Be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of host is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.”

Amen
